Everything Is Better Homemade

About a week ago, I came upon a post by Chloe about a recipe for homemade lip balm. She wanted some people to try it with her and I agreed but Unfortuntately, I didn’t have and could not get a hold of one of the ingredients which, shocked me because it was Kool-aid for goodness sakes. Because I couldn’t make that recipe, I decided to make some of my own with ingredients I had in my own kitchen. I had some lip balm tubes for a while from a past project that were never used that came in handy.

Lip Balm Ingredients
-Petroleum Jelly
-Coconut Oil
-Edible Glitter
-Various Extracts

I made five flavors that all turned out wonderful. I carry a tube around with me and even use it as a base for my lip color. The flavors are Cucumber Melon, Too Cute Passion Fruit, Pucker Up Peach, Vanilla Parfait and Pineapple dream. So far my favorite is the cucumber melon. It’s crisp, mild and refreshing!

I want to share! I have five tubes left and I want share it with people. Each container will come sealed with a strip of cute washi tape and dressed in ribbon. If you are interested in one, just leave a comment on this entry saying so or telling about your favorite lip product. That simple! I’ll pick five comments at random by March 15th 2012. Can’t wait to hear from you!

I need a break

This school year, along with my internship, has been jam packed with projects and assignments to do. I thought the stress of class would melt away once I dropped three classes this semester for my internship but I was wrong and now I’m swamped with deadlines as an intern. Hopefully that will change as I make my transition to a new company fairly soon.

If you don’t know, My friend and I are putting together a collection of short love stories. Writing is something we’ve always had a passion for and we made the decision to create this book as a way for us to finally complete something with one another. It’s tough for us as best friends to live so far away from each other and this book has helped us keep in communication. I’m happy to say that we are now in the proofing stage of the book and hopefully we’ll have the chance soon to share it with anyone who is interested.

Also, I have finally finished my children’s book! Just in time for my portfolio evaluation. I’m going to have it printed and bound but I will share a few more spreads. Enjoy!
